Edmonds Homes for Sale

There is much that can be said about the lovely city of Edmonds, Washington. It has many wonderful parks, friendly neighborhoods, great community events, a charmingly quaint downtown . . . BORING!

What I like best about Edmonds is its proximity to everything else that our fantastic region has to offer. The Edmonds Ferry landing provides quick access to the Olympic Peninsula, where recreational activities abound. As an outdoor buff, I take the Edmonds Ferry to Kingston, Washington at least 5 times a year. Once on the Peninsula, some of my favorite activities include visits to some great car-camping spots, especially at Dungeness, home of theDungeness Spit, the world's longest sand spit, and Deer Park, by far the highest elevation campground and perhaps the best car-camping in the state. For the more adventurous, the Olympic Mountain range is home to two hundred and fifty of miles of world-class backpacking trails. The High Divide Trail and the Hoh River Trail in particular are a couple of my personal favorites.

Edmonds is about 15 minutes away from Highway 2, which quickly plunges you into the Cascade Mountain Range and everything it has to offer. There are so many trails in the Cascades that mentioning any in particular do a great disservice to all the rest. Of course, Highway 2 also takes you directly to Stevens Pass Ski Resort, which I would argue is second only to Mount Baker for skiing and snowboarding.

To the north, easy access to the San Juan Islands, beautiful Skagit (think Tulip Festival) and Whatcom Counties, and only a little more than an hour away is Canada.

And of course, if you're looking for arts, culture, fine dining, hard drugs, and gunfights . . . Seattle is always only 20 minutes to the south.
